Regeln

Thanks for participating in one of our competitions! Please read through our rules and make sure you're familiar with them before starting to play! By signing up you certify that you have agreed to those rules and follow them to the best of your ability.

1. Contacting An Admin

If you need any help during the tournament, please join our Discord server. Our admin team will be available for you in case you have any questions before, during and after the competition!

2. Joining A Tournament

Players or teams should only join one competition at a time. If a participant is in a live competition they may not checkin to another tournament until they are eliminated from the current competition they are in or the competition is concluded. Participants are free to sign up to as many events as they like as long as they ensure to be able to play their respective matches.

3. Game Version

All matches played are to be played on the latest game version. If your game is not up to date and you are delayed due to it, you may be disqualified from the tournament. Please make sure your game is updated before the tournament starts.

4. Registration & Seeding

To register in a tournament, you need an account on this platform to join. Players are permitted one account only. Attempts to switch accounts, create multiple accounts, or otherwise circumvent this policy are not allowed and will result in a permanent ban from the site and all future competitions. If you have an issue regarding your account that needs to be addressed, please contact an admin.

The seeding for each tournament is shown on the tournament front page.

5. Check-In

Only Captains are able to check in the entire team for a tournament. You can check in by visiting the tournament front page and click on the "Check-In" button at the top right. The check-in times are available on the tournament page. If late check-in is enabled, you will be able to fill empty spots before the tournament starts and get a spot even if you did not register for it beforehand. You will not be able to participate if you do not check-in within time.

6. Scheduling

The time zone used for scheduling and communication is UTC/GMT by default if not shown otherwise on the page. Players must be in the game lobby and ready to begin their match at the scheduled playing time. If not provided otherwise, the next match is to be started ASAP. You can see the starting time of respective matches in the bracket of the tournament.

Players will be required to Ready up for their match within a fixed amount of time, usually around 5 to 20 minutes. If you miss the ready up, your opponent will receive a default win.

7. Playing A Match

When the match is ready, you will receive a notification on the website and a button will pop up at the top which lets you join your respective match lobby.

Once match setup has concluded and potential drafts have taken place, the captain of the home team (left side) is required to create the game lobby.

Every game is hidden pick no repeat when it comes to civilisations: each player can choose one of their drafted civilisations that hasn’t been played in the set beforehand.

Once a game is finished, you can simply hit the Rematch button or remake a lobby for the next one. Maps have to be played in the order in which they were drafted.

The results of the games should be automatically tracked and updated for each set. If for whatever reason the automated score tracking fails, please contact an admin.

8. Game Settings

When creating the lobby, please make sure to check the same options as in the screenshots and adjust the map and map size accordingly. The server should be discussed and chosen between the players to the fairest available. If none fits, then the players can alternate servers between games. In case no compromise is being reached, please contact an admin.

Please make sure to enable 2 minute spectator delay and set the proper time limit.

Both teams are responsible for checking the game settings before starting the game. Games played on a wrong setting can not be disputed afterwards.

9. Game Rules

Breaks: Players are expected to start their matches within 5 minutes after the draft has ended. Players are entitled and encouraged to take a short break every 3 games (or after particularly long games,if both parties agree to it). Delays might be punished by an Admin Loss, unless for proper reasons and clearly communicated to the opponent(s).

Pausing: Players are allowed 3 pauses each per game with a time limit of ~2 minutes, if a player needs to pause for longer it requires admin permission. Players are required to confirm with their opponent (or captain with captain in a team game) before unpausing.

Laming: No rules against laming, except for Nomad-start maps (see below).

Slinging: No rules against slinging

Nomad (start without a Town Center): for the first 3 in-game minutes

  • Players may steal but not attack enemy herdables

  • Players may not wall-in enemy units or buildings

  • Players may not build their first Town Center within firing range of an opponent’s Town Center (if that happens unintentionally, the game is to be restarted)

  • Players may not lame wild animals; it is only considered laming if less than 35 food is taken from the carcass (for foxes, if the villager doesn’t take all the gold possible).

Wrong Civilization: if an ineligible civilization has been picked by a player, the game is to be restarted right away and the opponent(s) choose which civilization should be played instead, out of the pool of available ones. Both teams are required to check for correct civilizations at game start. If noticed at the end of the day, the admin will have the final decision. By default a default win is awarded to the opposing team.

Wrong Settings: Both teams are required to check the game lobby settings before tournament start. If a setting is wrong, the match shall be restarted instantly. If the wrong settings were used, disputes of a match caused by an advantage due to wrong settings are void.

10. Admin Decisions

Players are responsible to contact an admin in case of a breach of rules or other issues. If for any reason an admin cannot be reached, players should continue to play and wait as appropriate. An admin will follow up as soon as possible, and this may result in outcomes being reviewed or reversed if deemed necessary. Admins may restart a game at any time under any circumstance if deemed necessary for the flow and fairness of the game. All rulings by admins are final. Disputes must be raised in a timely and respectful manner.

11. Sportsmanship

All participants, broadcasters, and admins are expected to show good sportsmanship and be respectful of all other parties at all times. Any behavior that that includes but is not limited to insults, racism, sexism, bad sportsmanship, and excessive use of aggressive or disrespectful language is not tolerated. This also includes any usernames, teams names, descriptions or other user generated content.

Competitive banter is welcome - just make sure its not personal! We are all here to enjoy the game together.

Any instances of misconduct or harassment should immediately be brought to the attention of the admins. All types of competition manipulation hindering competition integrity will not be tolerated.

12. Disconnections & Technical Issues

In the case of a game crash or de-synchronization, an admin will assess the situation and decide whether the game should be restored or restarted.

In either case, players must exit the game without revealing the map and are not permitted to go back and watch the recording before re-hosting.

Players can request a restart in situations where their map is bugged or otherwise failed to generate in the intended way. The restart must be called during the first four minutes of in-game time. After a restart, civilizations and colors must remain the same. Bugged maps include (but aren’t limited to) missing or blocked resources.

Repeated technical issues are the responsibility of the player. Intentional disconnections to avoid a loss will result in a forfeit.

If a player disconnects/drops they have 10 minutes to reconnect. If they are unable to appear in a lobby and ready up for a restart or restore within 10 minutes of the disconnect/drop they forfeit the remainder of the set.

13. Cheating & Exploits

Intentionally utilizing any bugs, glitches, or errors in the game is not allowed. In instances where bugs are utilized, the admins will decide whether the match should be restarted, replayed, or forfeited. This could lead to disqualification and/or a ban from future events. Macros, defined as external software or applications that emulate the use of multiple keys by using only one, are prohibited. Graphical mods available in the mod center are allowed. Players should contact an admin for any uncertainty about what is considered an exploit.

14. Streaming

Streaming of your POV is encouraged and welcome. Players who choose to stream their own point of view do so at their own discretion and assume full responsibility for any consequences that result from streaming live with no delay, such as stream sniping or other disadvantages. Streamers are not able to dispute matches due to it if they do not use a delay while playing the tournament. You are not requried to have any logos or commands on the streams, but we welcome any advertisement!

15. Casting

Casters are always welcome to cast the Clash series! We are higlighting 1 community caster every tournament. We advice casters to have a command to share information with viewers about the tournament quickly, as this is regulary requested. Example: !castlerush Weekly tournament series with a $150 prize pool, open for all elos - play.castlerush.org. If you want to support the tournament furthermore, you are free to add any series' logo to your stream.

16. Prize Payout

If a tournament does pay out prizes and a player is eligible to win a prize, the player or the team captain has to open up a ticket on the official Discord within 2 weeks, under the category of “Competition Prize Payout”. The winner is expected to share the required personal information to be able to receive the prize. If the player fails to provide the payment information within the mentioned timeframe, they are no longer entitled to their prize winnings. Prizes will be paid out within 4 weeks after the 2-week notice schedule.

The organizer offers 2 different channels to receive prize payouts

  1. Bank Transfer - If you are part of the European Union and got a European bank account, this is the easiest and fastest way. Please include the following information in the ticket to receive your prize: your full legal name, current residing address (based on the one in your bank account), IBAN and BIC.

  2. PayPal - If you prefer receiving your money through a transfer service or you are not living within the European Union, please include the following information: your full legal name, your PayPal email address. Note: PayPal usually takes a fee of roughly 3% and 0,35$ per payment which will be deducted by PayPal when the payment is sent to the player

As an European company we are forced to comply with sanctions imposed by the European Union, resulting in citizens of certain countries not being able to receive prize money. Please check sanctionsmap.eu or ask one of our admins if you are unsure.
