Code of Conduct

We built Gamenex to be able to enjoy gaming together. Playing competitive games against each other also translates into high blood pressure, and we know that. This is why we created this Code of Conduct with 3 main principles:

1. Fairness

We want everybody to enjoy their game. Sometimes there is more, sometimes there is less. However, you should always keep it fair for everybody, as this is the requirement for a long-term fun and enjoyable opportunity. That means, do not:

  • Smurf. Smurfing hurts everybody for a short spike of extra fun or a few dollars.
  • Share your account. A friend playing won't fix the fun for yourself.
  • Exploit bugs or glitches. Report them where possible, to make it fair for everybody.
  • Use Cheats. Yes, an obvious point. Just don't.

2. Integrity

Everyone tries to win. And we know that games can get wild, we're gamers ourself. But even in the craziest game, you should always keep your personal integrity to a higher standard, as this allows us as all to enjoy our games we love so much together.

  • Do not throw a game on purpose, especially not in the context of matchfixing
  • In team games, do not deliberately damage, block or sabotage your team mates
  • Do not share any game information with the opponent if they are your friend
  • Do not prolong games which are already lost, just to make it harder for your opponent

3. Respect

This is probably the most important point. While the other categories are mostly based around gaining a competitive advantage or using game mechanics, the principle of human respect is the most important one. Context always counts in those cases.

  • Insults against a person are not allowed. Once it goes personal, it is to far. Please remember that you may meet certain players multiple times and/or still need to play with each other.
  • Do not discriminate somebody. We are an open community from all over the world, with different opinions on politics, race and gender. This is what online gaming has always excelled in and we are proud to welcome people from all over.

What is totally allowed and welcome is banter. It is part of a competitive environment. As long as its referenced to the skill in the game and not the person directly.

At the end of the day: If you treat everybody how you want to be treated - you are totally fine. An end of game frustration can also happen from time to time, and everybody has them. Just don't let it define you or the way you present yourself!
